APEx is located at 60, Basant Lok, Vasant Vihar Community Centre, New Delhi near Priya Cinema Complex, initiated by a Non Profit Society - JSIER, supported by Jindal Photo Limited, the sole marketers of Fujifilm, and a consortium of Professional Photographers in a bid to share their knowledge and experience. The credentials are impeccable and the intention is crystal, bringing quality and international standard to Photography education in India. Fostering an academic & industry alliance that would help in nurturing photography talent across the country, with the best in academics and industry, a synergy ideal in both nature and form..

APEx is an effort to bring together all practicing Professionals, Amateurs, Advanced learners and also those who are still trying to come to grips with the medium on the same platform. A constant pooling of ideas and a resource base that is dynamic enough to contain, assimilate global movements and trends.

In a Nutshell APEx is a movement , a revolution of sorts, where through a bloodless coup a leadership is being created, which will carry Photography the art and the science of it all , to it’s most logical conclusion.

Aimed at training, educating and teaching especially the youth along with practicing Professionals about various movements within Photography, across multiple platforms, how the Industry is changing, the rules that distinguish a good photo from a bad one and how photography itself is changing. The boundaries are dissolving and the lines blurring, to emerge into one seamless art form. The Photo is no longer an isolated approximation of reality but a relative construct that acquires new meanings and transcends planes of understanding when used in conjunction with other media.

APEx stands for identifying specific challenges and developing a curriculum which has vocational relevance for the ever changing times and providing an opportunity for those who wish to pursue studies in this area. Also intending to provide a learning atmosphere that is particularly appealing and extremely encouraging for the creative and expressive demands of the prospective photographer / image maker.

It will execute the transition from analogue to digital and make it a most exciting time. The students at APEx, will embrace new technology whilst retaining the hard won values of the old. It would be a journey which will be significant and at the same time stimulating. APEx will not just teach its students to record an image but also to construct one. The endeavour is to provide an environment which is constantly renewing and energizing, and where learning is about discovering and creating. The fascination with "Visual Media" and the inherent challenge associated with effectively communicating ideas is the prime focus.

Jindal Photo has been around in the Industry for a fairly long time now, having been the leaders in the Industry, constant innovation and reinventing ourselves has been our philosophy right from our formative years. This venture is just some random thought. This initiative therefore comes at an opportune moment and the timing couldn’t have been more right.
